Breath of Life on Radio Scotland
First broadcast on Good Friday 2016, the Breath of Life radio programme featured our principle investigator Jane Macnaughton in conversation with Anna Magnusson. Through words and music Anna meditates on the mystery of the breath, sharing powerfully intimate stories of life and death, using those personal experiences to reflect on the physical and spiritual quality of breathing and life and death.
The programme went on to win a 2016 Jerusalem Award, a mark of excellence in religious broadcasting, for the way that it beautifully captures both the pain and the possibility of hope of Good Friday in a way which speaks to everyone.
Unfortunately the programme is not currently available on the BBC iPlayer, but Anna touched on similar themes in the blog post ‘Air’ that she wrote for us in 2015.
