Take a Breath at Celebrate Science 2016

We challenged visitors to Durham University’s Celebrate Science marquee to do something unusual with their breath – either use it to make art or break a world record! Over three days (25-27 October 2016) our stand welcomed 1000 visitors. Our younger guests used their breath to make bubble pictures with some stunning results like those pictured. Meanwhile, other visitors were invited to hum for as long as possible on just one breath. The Durham champion managed an impressive 55 seconds, although this was nowhere near the incredible world record of 1min 52sec!
